TANMIA has officially announced the establishment of Nakheel Oman Development Company jointly with the Diwan of Royal Court represented by the Directorate of the One Million Date Palm Plantation Project.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of His Excellency Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, Head of the Implementation and Follow up Support Unit.
The newly-established company will be the investment arm of the One Million Date Palm Plantation Project, which was ordered by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.
The establishment of the company is the outcome of the constructive cooperation and research between the Diwan of Royal Court and TANMIA with direct support from the National Program for Enhancing Economic Diversification “TANFEEDH”.
The company will contribute to food security in the Sultanate and in enhancing the economic, social, cultural, and environmental resources as well.
Total investments amounting to about RO 92 million will be undertaken by Nakheel Oman Development Company which would include the establishment of a main processing unit in the Wilayat of Nizwa in addition to establishment of joint ventures for value added products from dates and by-products as well.
